MFT Release Countdown Day 6

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Today we are featuring this darling image from Pure Innocence. Sailor Girl is very patriotic. These images are so much fun to color and they make me smile. I started by stamping and coloring her with Copic markers. Some fussy cutting and she was ready to be placed on a card.

For the background, Die-namics Pierced Oval STAX die number six was used to cut Smooth White cardstock. Then I die cut a new Die-namics set, Making Waves from a piece of left over cardstock. Using one of the pieces like a stencil, I inked Blu Raspberry ink gently over the top. I moved down the oval, creating layers of waves. Subtle, but a cool touch.

The steering wheel (hopefully that is what it is called, or maybe helm) was die cut from Chocolate Brown cardstock with Die-namics Let's Get Nautical. To add the wood grain, I stamped the circle wood grain image from Wood You Be Mine in Chocolate Brown ink.

The sentiment piece was die cut from Die-namics Blueprints 9 and the stars from Die-namics Blueprints 11. The bits and pieces from those sets are incredibly useful!

Remember those waves I die cut and used as a stencil? Guess what? The wave looked so great with all the ink, I thought it would work perfectly to add to the inside of my card! Can I just say that making the insides of cards has been a blast!?! Its fun to see what you can come up with to tie the two parts of a card together!

And my second card of the day...it appears I went straight from springy yesterday to summery today! (you have no idea how much snow we got yesterday. its depressing. I NEED warmth!) The latest red rubber background image is coming out and its my favorite!! STRIPES!! Striped Background is perfect. Stripes are perfect. Sigh. Happy stamper.

I stamped Striped Background onto Smooth White cardstock with Lemon Drop ink. Then used Die-namics Insert It 3x4 Insert to cut a panel for the front of my card.

Mini Delicate Doilies were die cut from Blu Raspberry, Razzle Berry, and Gumdrop Green cardstocks and adhered to the card. I also added some enamel dots for fun.

The sentiment is from Sunny Day Doodles Love It. I stamped it onto a piece of Smooth White cardstock die cut with a rectangle from Die-namics Blueprints 9. See, there goes that Blueprints set again, being all useful! I colored the letters with Copic markers and added white accents.

To the inside, I added a strip of the extra paper I had from stamping my stripes. Then I added some darling doodle images from Sunny Day Doodles Borders and Accents.

Whew! Lots of fantastic new product coming out this month! Can you believe how well everything coordinates?!? It amazes me and makes me one happy girl. Be sure and head to the MFT Blog. There is a chance to win and always images of the new releases in all their glory!

thanks for stopping by!
