Great candy, and thanks for offering it to us! My very first stamp was - believe it or not - a photopolymer stamp designed to use on fabric waaay back in the early '80s! It was a ewe and lamb, and I still have it! My very first rubber stamp was a "stitched alphabet" set back in 1995. I ignored all things stampy for a looong time, but got back into it while caring for my mother before she passed away (leukemia). My sister-in-law was big into scrapbooking and cardmaking and got me hooked again. Now I'm ever-so-slightly out of control! I think it was some foam-mounted STAR TREK stamps of all things, that I bought through the mail, they were licensed, and official images of all the Next Generation crew, plus a planet or two, and the ship, and the on-shirt communicator/insignia image.

Then, since I liked those (what did I know about wood-mounted stamps, there was no such thing as unmounted systems then, and foam-mounted was the only way these came) I ordered a set of original series crew images as well, with the original ship. No communicator though, but loved having Spock! He was fun to stamp on outgoing mail and such.

The sad thing is, in all my various moves over the years, they got LOST. I have cried over those lost stamps, wishing I had them still!! I loved them; well, maybe not Deanna Troi and her pouffy early series 80's hair, lol!!! I can't remember if Tasha Yar was in the set; I think not - the series was popular enough that she had died (thank goodness, ugh!).

Lol! But the space stamps made for my first attempts at some scenic stamping, and since space is 4-d, it really made making a convincing scene easy. The few planets, the ships, and the odd other space/stars stamp or two were good for that. And I could mix series and eras all I wanted.

Time warps, space anomalies, you know! What an awesome question...Congrats on so many hits. What an awesome question! My school used to go on so many cool school trips. Once we went to the Art Galley or the Science Center or something like that and my mom used to give me a wee bit of money to spend in the gift shop before we left to go back to school. I found my name as a wood-mounted rubber stamp! Rebecca was hard to find back then bc it wasn't nearly as popular as it is now. I was constantly on the look out for personalized stuff and most often disappointed but here was my name! At 8-10 years old, I was thrilled; now I could stamp it anywhere I wanted! Stamp pads back then did not have finger grooves, just a straight sided wood block. I still have it though I think sadly I unmounted it; DUMB! My mom got me an Inkadinkadoo rainbow stamp pad and I remember when I was a bit older, a few years, I called the company to order-it was all mail and phone order in the late 80's- and they had the quirkiest old Inkadinkadoo song on when you were put on hold. I wonder if that song is where they got such an interesting name!! The stamps they sold back then were unmounted ('Rebecca' was by another company) and you were encouraged to mount them on thread spools, jar lids or other normally disposable plastic objects. One of my favourites as a balloon stock to a white plastic cap of some sort. Good memories. Thanks for sparking them!

Rebeccacell at gmail dot comRebecca Edniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14871562426315336608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7923013566219322575.post-16080581944485945582009-11-19T01:17:44.795-06:002009-11-19T01:17:44.795-06:00Hope I'm not too late.

The inspiration was my daughter’s baby pictures. The goal was to create beautiful memories. The problem was…. had no idea of how to do it. Between work, a baby, and home, didn’t put much time into it. Especially when I didn’t know what to do with those items I purchase. Last year I was laid off from my job and became a full time mom. That is when I decide to try again and was introduce to stamping, which I love now. Stamping has given us the opportunity to have more family time creating cards and crafts. My daughter is 6 now and she got Grandparents to do crafts every Saturday (she is their teacher). What do Grandparents don’t do for grandchild’s?
Thanks for the opportunity to participate and for all those great tips and tutorials.

Eliana C.
ratones67@comcast.netSweet Pupalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05005223476101594246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7923013566219322575.post-39012871680317188652009-11-18T23:00:08.795-06:002009-11-18T23:00:08.795-06:00Congrats on 300k hits! Needless to say, it was a very stressful time. My sister visited as often as possible, but with a young family of four she couldn't stay for the duration. On one of her visits, she took me to a rubber stamping show at the fairgrounds. I was AMAZED! I thought it was just cute cards! Boy was I wrong! There were two really great stamping stores in ABQ, and by the time I moved back home four months later, I had two full Iris storage carts full of supplies! I could sit in the dining room with the baby monitor and stamp whenever my mom was able to sleep. It really saved my sanity and I still love stamping!

My first stamps were by StampaMania - beautiful SW designs.
