colored pencil patterns on stamped images; MFT Stamps May Release Countdown

Welcome to the start of the MFT Stamps Release Countdown! For the next 5 days we will be sharing projects featuring the new stamps, dies, stencils, and colors that will be releasing this month. You will be able to purchase any of the products you see over the next few days on Tuesday, May 3 at 9 pm Central.

A set of stamps and dies from Lisa Johnson Designs starts the May release off with a homey vibe. Make Yourself At Home Stamps and the coordinating Make Yourself at Home Die-namics are full of great images to build a welcoming space! If you love to decorate and want to change colors all the time, not that I am speaking from personal experience, this set is the perfect solution! With a couch, chairs, pillows, a throw, a rug and more, you can change colors around in your "living room" all the time! :D

I stamped my images with Hybrid Black Licorice ink, then die cut my Sweet Tooth card stock with Make Yourself at Home Die-namics. The colors I chose are based on what is in my living room now. Which made it fun to color with my color pencils. The throw blanket image fits perfectly on the couch, along with one of the pillow images

To create a scene in the background, I stamped the Linen Background on the top of my card stock panel. Then, I stamped Wood Plank Background underneath. It was my attempt to add wall paper and a wood floor to the living room. I was very happy with how it turned out!

My favorite part of the whole living room scene is the rug. I love how it turned out. I wanted the rug to have a pattern to it, but I didn't want to stamp one onto it. After stamping and die cutting the image, I colored random red and green spots on it, to represent flowers and leaves. Then I colored in the rest with the same golden yellow from the couch. Perfect coordination!

Because I liked my rug so well, I wondered if I could take the chair from Make Yourself at Home and give it a floral pattern? It worked perfectly!

After stamping and die cutting the chair, I colored red spots for flowers. I also added some bright pink for a little more contrast. Leaves were created with green patches. I was not terribly careful with how I colored, as I wanted the representation of the flowers. I think this technique pulled it off well!

This ideal sentiment is exactly what the card needed, well, what both cards needed!

Visit the MFT Stamps blog for all the information you will need about the upcoming release. That includes product images, product videos, links to the design team projects, and more! Plus, there always seems to be a chance to win!

thanks for stopping by!

I LOVE how you added flowers to the area rug. And the blue chair with even more flowers is simply gorgeous!
