Fantastic Florals-MFT April Creative Challenge

Can we really call this a "challenge?" I mean really? With all the gorgeous floral products available from MFT Stamps, the real challenge here was trying to decide what to use! Or narrow down my choices, at least. I finally settled on Modern Blooms. Its just too gorgeous not to use!

There is a watercolor artist on Instagram that I follow called, yaochengdesign. She posted a gorgeous watercolor flower image and I had to try and make my own version with the MFT Stamps products I had on hand.

I stamped many of the images from Modern Blooms using a modified watercolor technique. I inked my images, stamped them off on scrap paper, then spritzed with water. Finally, I stamped the watery image onto watercolor paper. Some images were too faded, so I did stamp them directly, but only occasionally.

With all the water and watered down ink images, I was sure to use Hybrid Black Licorice ink to stamp my sentiment from True Friends.

The inspiration for this card came from a little girl's dress that I saw while on a quick shopping trip in the Twin Cities this past weekend. Having a boy means I can never buy those frilly, pretty things, but I can use them as inspiration for a frilly card!

I die cut Sweet Tooth cardstock with Die-namics Modern Blooms, cutting the same flower out five times and the same leaf five times. Then I stamped each of the images. With the flower, I stamped with Ripe Raspberry ink and then rotated the image slightly, stamping it again. Its not every perfect, but I like that.

The feature I like the best about Modern Blooms is the fact that each image has layers. Using ink, you can create quite the depth and interest on each of your images! Even the leaves!

One more card, because I stamped a million flowers. And it was a happy day!

Once again, I die cut the flowers and then stamped. Be sure to check out my supply lists at the end of this post. You will be able to see what inks I layered together for these results. Each of the photos is a direct link to the products used. I hope that it makes your shopping much easier!

Visit the MFT Stamps Blog to be linked up to everyone sharing their gorgeous floral creations. It will be like spring all day!
