MFT Release Countdown merry and bright

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

So close! Its almost time to be able to shop! Just a reminder that my next post will be your signal to pick up all the fantastic new stamps and dies that caught your eye during the MFT Stamps October Release Countdown!

This card is all about the merry! Die-namics Merry cuts the word out of your paper! I simply trimmed away the excess paper on the top and bottom to create a fantastic strip of glitter paper and a focal point!

The word bright is from Merry Messages and it was the perfect word to use with the bright Sour Apple cardstock and glitter paper!

The ampersand was cut from Electric Red cardstock using Die-namics Ampersand. I love being able to mix and match products to create a sentiment on card. It adds dimension and especially interest!

This project is simple. Super simple. But I cannot tell you how happy it makes me! Years ago I found gold glitter words that were Christmas tree ornaments. Being newlywed and not being able to afford them, I only picked up a few. I have regretted it ever since! I have never been able to find something even close, until now. Clapping my hands with joy, I knew right away what I was going to make with Die-namics Peace, Love, Joy!

I cut each word from gold glitter. Then I cut the words again, three time each, from Primitive White cardstock.

Because each word gets perfectly cut, it is easy to adhere them together and make a thicker and more supported ornament.

As tempted as I was, I just couldn't bring myself to take the Christmas tree out for photography, so I put together a few picks and branches I found at a local craft store. :)

On each end of the word, at the top, I punched a hole and tied gold baker's twine through to make a hanger.

I cannot wait to make more and finally get the words on my tree that I want!

The MFT Blog is full of wonderful information, be sure and stop over!

thanks for stopping by!
