MFT July Release Countdown Starts! Wishing You the Best

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

This month is all about birthdays. And I love, love, love everything in this month's release. You will be able to be creative and create cards, gift wraps, and more for any person celebrating. Let's get started with the fun!

When I saw Blueprints 17 Die-namics, I knew immediately that I wanted to create a cafe-style sign. Those signs always make my heart flutter. You know the ones that are outside bakeries and coffee shops, so beautifully drawn...which I am not the best at, but cue the Birthday Chalkboard Greetings stamp set!

I made the sign 3D by cutting the sign image out from a card base, allowing the top edge of the die to hang over the edge of the card fold, so it wouldn't cut all the way through. Then Blueprints 17 gets even more brilliant...see the wood look? There is a die that creates the look for each side! By adding a bit of Natural ink to the surface, it really brings out the texture.

The sentiment from Birthday Chalkboard Greetings was stamped onto Black Licorice cardstock with Sweet Tooth ink. I added the excess chalk with my finger. I think it adds an authentic look to the "chalkboard."

And the super fun part...the balloons! I cut the oval from Blueprints 17 from different colors of cardstock. Each of the pieces were stamped with Happy Birthday Backgound. I also added stars and the bow from Blueprints 17. How did I get the balloons to stand up? I sprayed twine with Stiffen Stuff. More on that later, after the release. ;)

Celebrate You stamp set has some great sentiments and these cute present and bow images!

I applied Bubble Gum and Orange Fizz inks to the images and then spritzed them with water before stamping. It created a watercolor look. I repeated the same process with the bows and small burst images. This card was easy to create and the color palette could easily be changed for whomever the receiver will be.

Celebrate You also has coordinating Die-namics! Yay! I die cut the present and bow from Primitive White cardstock, then stamped the bow with Banana Split ink and the present with Blu Raspberry ink.

I mounted the present image onto a small gift bag made from Die-namics Treat Pocket. Its perfect for holding a gift card or cash.

Who's ready to celebrate and party?!?! Be sure and head to the MFT Blog to see who the new design team member is! Welcome her and then drool over all her fabulous work!

thanks for stopping by!

You are so stinkin' clever adding the balloons to the top of the easel. I'm always in need of gift card ideas too. Thanks.
