smile; joy is contagious

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

How awesome is the new Die-namics TRANSFORM-ables Smile?! Its an awesome two die set. The larger die cuts out the larger square, while the smaller die cuts the word smile and the inside. When you shift the inside die slightly lower, it looks like a Polaroid! These do need to be cut in two separate passes, so be sure and use low-tack tape to hold the smile part in place.

To give the word smile a bit more pop away from the background, I die cut the smile portion from Blu Raspberry cardstock, trimmed away the word, and adhered it slightly above and behind the original Primitive White Cardstock word.

The background card on this set was a lot of fun to create. I was messing around with Stencil Large Polka Dots and happened upon this idea. My stencil shifted and "ruined" my original one-color pattern. When I lifted the stencil, I saw something wonderful! When you shift the stencil, you can double up the pattern! So, I first stenciled Blu Raspberry ink onto my Primitive White cardstock. Then I moved the Stencil and used Sour Apple ink. To fill in the rest of the pattern, I stamped the small star image from At The Office with Orange Fizz ink.

And one last detail to mention, the second half of the sentiment. I stamped "joy is contagious" from the new set Smile, in Hybrid Black Licorice ink onto a label shape from Die-namics Blueprints 16

Here is to you smiling today!

thanks for stopping by!
