MFT Release Countdown Day 1

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Soon! The new release will be available so soon! My next blog post will signal the time to start shopping! But until then, we all have a bit more inspiration to share!

The stamp set, Let's Tool Around, is full of great images and sentiments perfect for making masculine cards. This card started off with the sentiment. After I stamped the Primitive White cardstock card base with Typewriter Text Background in Grout Grey ink, I added the sentiment in Hybrid Black Licorice Ink

The border images of bolts and screws seemed to be perfect for creating strips of washi. I die cut cardstock with Die-namics Washi tape and then stamped the images. I layered them until I was happy. For a final touch I added Orange Fizz Sequins. Proof that you CAN put sequins on a masculine card. :)

The Let's Tool Around stamp set started this card also. I stamped the sentiment in Hybrid Black Licorice ink onto Kraft cardstock. I shifted it slightly to the right, so I could add a few of the border images to the left. These border images are perfect for masking like I did (in all the corners also) because of how well the stamps were designed. Its awesome!

The background is Wood Plank Background stamped in Kraft ink onto Kraft cardstock. My favorite part of this card is the hammer. Using Die-namics Let's Tool Around, I die cut Primitive White cardstock. Then I masked my stamp and stamped the top of the hammer with Hybrid Black Licorice ink. The bottom was stamped with Electric Red ink. Why did I do it that way? Because it looks exactly like my husband's hammer. :)

If you want to share in the pre-shopping excitement tonight, head over to the MFT Forum at Splitcoast Stampers and hang out with us! We chat for an hour or two before the release goes live at 9 pm CST.

thanks for stopping by!

The wood background is perfect for the hammer and the sentiment. The screws on the corner are a nice touch.

I love your cards -- the first one is very imaginative with the washi tape look and the dots; love the second one too with the wood grain! Lovely!
