MFT April Release Countdown: Congratulations Superstar

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Today I am sharing a Congratulations card along with a quick tutorial. Die-namics Centerpieces Congratulations Shaker is beyond brilliant. The parts of this set of dies allow you to create a card for any situation that needs congratulations! How cool is that? (Seriously run and look. I will wait.) I started off by making a graduation congratulations card. I used a gold glitter background, but you could use the appropriate school colors and customize your card. Again, awesome!

My first step was cutting a panel of Black Licorice cardstock. This piece measures 4 1/8" x 5 3/8." (just 1/8" off a standard A2 card front size) Using low-tack tape I held the Die-namics in place while I ran it through my manual die cutting machine.

Then I cut a panel of Smooth White cardstock. It measures 2 3/4" x 4," just large enough to cover behind the letters. Peel away the yellow backing from a 4x6 Adhesive sheet from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. (so happy MFT is carrying these in their store now!) Set your cardstock down on the adhesive surface and replace the yellow backing sheet. Gently rub the yellow backing to get the adhesive to transfer to your cardstock. Then trim away the excess.

Peel away the white backing to reveal the adhesive. The front of your entire sheet of cardstock is now sticky.

Generously pour glitter onto the adhesive, making sure to have paper underneath so you can return the extra glitter to the jar. Burnish, or rub in, the adhesive with your finger. Tap off the excess.

And now you have a beautiful piece of custom-made glitter paper! Adhere the glitter paper to your card base. You will need to add adhesive because you used the sticky side for the glitter.

Apply foam adhesive around the outside edges and adhere to the card.

I also cut stars from gold foil paper using Die-namics Sun, Moon & Stars. They are a fabulous size!

One more quick project for you today. The little man has some very proud grandmas these days, with his swimming successes. So, I thought it would be awesome to make them fridge photo magnets using Die-namics Superstar Photo Card Frame!

I die cut the frame from Electric Red cardstock. Then adhered the frame directly to the photo. The black panel is Black Licorice cardstock cut to the size of an A2 card front. Stars were die cut from Die-namics Sun, Moon & Stars and stamped with stripes from Washi Patterns.

Not the best photo, but a quick look at the frame on the fridge. I used a piece of magnetic vent cover on the back of the cardstock, which is the same product I use for storing all my Die-namics and die templates.

thanks for stopping by!

Great projects. Love the magnetic vent cover idea. Bet it is way cheaper than most systems on the market. Off to Home Depot to price it.
