MFT April Release Countdown: You Make Me Happy

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

Just like this card says, hi everyone! I am happy to be bringing some bright sunshine and puffy clouds into your day! I had quite a bit of fun playing with all the wonderful new products from MFT on this card, so let me get right to sharing!

First up is this Kraft cardstock panel. I wanted to create polka dotted clouds by stamping through Stencil Cloudy Day. Looking through my stamp stash, I found Washi Patterns and knew the small dots would work wonderfully. Cool part about MFT Stencils? You can stamp through them! I love that. You can't stamp through all stencils, believe me, I have tried.

I placed my cardstock down onto my table and secured it with a little washi tape and did the same for my Stencil Cloudy Day. Then I stamped through the stencil using MFT Pigment Sweet Tooth ink. This really worked out well because the cardstock panel is a wee bit smaller than the stamp, allowing me to start stamping at the bottom and working my way up to the top. When stamping through your stencils, you will need to push slightly harder and rock your stamp back and forth just a tiny bit. I have also found that pigment ink helps.

To my cute polka dot cloud panel, I added a die-cut sunshine from Die-namics Sun, Moon & Stars. To give my die-cut Lemon Drop cardstock a little pop, I stamped it with Typewriter Text Background in Lemon Drop ink.

The washi tape was created with Washi Patterns stamps stamped in Blu Raspberry ink onto Smooth White cardstock that was cut with Die-namics Washi Tape.

The card base felt a little lacking, so I decided to emboss Stencil Cloudy Day and I am glad I did. What a fun and subtle touch! (I use a Spellbinders Grand Calibur as my manual die cutting machine. To emboss your stencils with it, use the A Plate, Embossing Pad, Embossing Plate.)

And finally the inside. Here I masked the sentiment from Blue Skies Ahead to make the word happy stand out in yellow. Using a post-it note makes it easy to achieve. And one last cloud touch, I used the cloud drop outs from Die-namics Cloud Cover-Up.

thanks for stopping by!

So much cloud fluffiness, and I like how you used the polka dot stamp over the stencil.
