MFT March Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome to this month's Release Countdown with My Favorite Things! You will find complete details each day on the MFT Blog, including how you can win prizes and full reveals of featured products.

The new stamp set from Lisa Johnson called, Words of Inspiration, is so touching. Its perfect for when you just don't have the right words to say. So often we have friends and loved ones facing troubles and we have no way of being able to help. Sending a card with thoughtful words, our love, and our prayers is a wonderful way to express what we are feeling. And to remind our loved ones that they are not alone.

To create the background, I used Die-namics Floral Fusion Cover-Up to die cut Smooth White cardstock. Then I utilized my favorite faux-watercolor trick and painted the cardstock. For a tutorial on how to accomplish the look check here: Watercolor Dream.

Have you played along with the sketches at MFT yet? Each week there is a new sketch for you to use in your card making. And there is a chance to win prizes! Check out the details below!

"You have until Tuesday, March 11 at noon EST to add your link and be eligible for the prize of up to $20 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! The weekly prize is a $15 Gift Voucher to My Favorite Things, but if you use MFT stamps in your project, you’ll receive an extra $5."

For my second card today, I used the MFTWSC166 sketch. I love how sketches can get your creativity going! The first layer is Smooth White cardstock die cut with Die-namics Blueprints 13. I cut more white cardstock with the pennant shape from the set too. The pennant was stamped with Striped Background in Spearmint Ink.

To create the circle, I first die cut Die-namics Floral Fusion Cover-Up. Then I used Die-namics Circle STAX Set 1 to cut a circle from the center. From another piece of cardstock, two staggered circles were die cut at the same time to create a frame to go around the circle. And using the circles again, (yay for being able to layer everything perfectly!) I cut Spearmint cardstock. Its a fun way to use a small part of your Cover-Ups.

The sentiment is from Words of Inspiration, stamped in Blu Raspberry Ink.

The inside of this card is cool, if I do say so myself. I used the left over floral piece with the circle missing that I cut from the front! A sentiment was added from Words of Inspiration. I used Spearmint Ink, but with a small sentiment like that, I should have used a darker color. Live and learn. In real life, though, it is easy to see. (We need sun! Someone send the sun! :))

thanks for stopping by!

I really like how you used your leftovers.... the piece that had the circle cut-out and was adhered to the inside of card. I'm going to try this sometime (if I remember it).
