My Favorite Things November Release Countdown Day 1

It's a happy day today! I have been keeping a secret and now I can share! This month I am guest designing for My Favorite Things! EEEE! I am so, so, so excited! MFT has beautiful stamps, and dies, and ink, and cardstock, and lots of other goodies! They always hit it out of the park each month with their releases, and let me tell you, I am one lucky girl because I get to play with it all, and share it with you! A huge thank you to Kim and her team for inviting me! Its an honor and you are all fantastic to work with!

MFT Nov Preview Warm Winter by Kimberly Crawford

Today I used this adorable image from Pure Innocence called "Warm Winter." These images are precious and I could not wait to color her!

See the shaped card base? I created that using Die-namics Blueprints 9. Blueprints die sets are incredibly clever. Its an entire set of dies that can create cards based on digital sketches that you receive with the dies. How cool is that? Instant card. But also a lot of dies to be creative with! This large tag will be getting a lot of use!

I also used the cute scalloped border (trimmed from a larger image) and the stitched-edge rectangle from Die-namics Blueprints 9. Perfect card sized elements. Brilliant!

And now for the coloring. Normally I would grab my Copic markers and go to town. But today, after I grabbed my patterned paper (Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky) and looked down at my inks, I decided to watercolor. Its easy to do. Simply press your ink pads into a craft mat. Spritz with water and apply the color with a paint brush. Add more water for softer color. And be sure and use watercolor paper for this technique.

Tip: To create the peach color for her face, I mixed MFT Orange Fizz and Wild Cherry with a lot of water.

Here she is, all colored. Man, I love these images!

Please be sure to head over to the MFT blog for direct links to each of the fabulous designers, more examples, and details regarding the November release. Oh, and did I mention, prizes?!!

I will be back often with more projects to share! thanks for stopping by!
