The May/June issue of Paper Crafts Magazine is now available!! And I owe you all a HUGE thank you!!

hello

Why? Because you chose this card to be in the issue! Thank you!!! This card is located in the Raiding the Kitchen section, along with my other card in the issue. The background of this card was made with sea salt! To find out more about how to create the look, be sure and check out the issue!

AND as a thank you, I have an extra copy of this issue and I would love to give it away to one of my readers! And if you would like, I would LOVE to send you the card!! Simply leave a comment on this post, telling me what you would create a card with from the kitchen. The deadline is at 10 pm CDT.

thanks for stopping by!

~kimberly

A bit of a side note about this issue…there is a TON of content in the digital issue! Its beautiful, oh, so beautiful! There are a couple of ways to get access the digital version of the magazine, one is to subscribe to the paper version and then you can get a code to access it online (which is me). Two, is to just subscribe digitally. With iPads, and Kindles, and Nooks, you may prefer to receive your copies only that way. For more about the digital goodness, read Jennifer Schaerer’s blog post HERE.

Gosh - this sea salt card intrigues me. Must find out how it's done and give that a try. Also have always wanted to try is stamping with a sliced-in-half apple.

Coffee - beans or grinds! I'm thinking some sort of scented embossing maybe. Thanks for the inspiration!

yes, saw the kitchen cards!!! from my kitchen, i guess using a dried used drip coffee filter might be an interesting item from the kitchen for a mix'd media project

Congratulations!

I would use a tea bag--not very creative, but I am a big tea drinker and like to make tea cards and gifts.

Oooo, so pretty~! Can't part with my sea salt...well,maybe a little! LOL!

I'm thinking I like re-purpose my coffee bean grounds so that would be my choice for coloring and for the smell! Heehee!!

Have a great weekend xo

Very pretty! How do you like the digital copy of the mag? Better than paper or just different? I have a Kindle and am trying to decide if I'd like digital.

Also, I know we're both way busy but it might be fun to hook up for coffee/tea/beer or crafting one of these days.

I am very interested in seeing the sea salt technique. I would use a soup can label. The front of the label would make an adorable front for the card and would have a number of different colors that can be easy to match.

Hmmmm, maybe a cereal box as chipboard.

I voted for this card! Of course! I just love using salt in my paintings to add texture, and while I don't need another copy of the magazine, I would love to find a card made by you in my mailbox!

Beautiful card! Congrats! I want to hear about the sea salt technique too!

I'd cut some of those super fat straws they use for bubble teas down really short and adhere them like quilled paper to form flower petals.

How wonderful! I have heard of the salt technique but have never tried it - now I have some inspiration from your beautiful card! Congrats for being in the magazine!

I save pretty wrappers from chocolate bars for using in my cards. How can you lose? You get the chocolate AND have something for crafting!!

I've seen some great roses made from stamping with celery stalks. I'd love to try that!

Cool card! Would love to make a masculine card with googly eyes maybe with potato stamps like Mr Potato?
