Ice Resin Spellbinders Poinsettia with Simon Says Stamp kit

I am playing around with my December Simon Says Stamp kit (read that as procrastinating) and also some new-to-me product, Ice Resin.

Ice Resin Spellbinders Poinsettia with Simon Says Stamp kit CU

Here is a closer look at the poinsettia I was able to create with book paper, Ice Resin, and Spellbinders die templates. It takes a bit of pre-planning, but its worth it.

Ice Resin and book paper

Making this gorgeous glassine book paper is very easy! Start with a piece of  real book page. You can pick old books up at thrift stores for a song. Place the book page on a craft mat.

To use the Ice Resin, you will push both plungers at the same time, and pour a small amount of the epoxy into a plastic cup. It needs to be stirred for 2 minutes (no less) to mix both parts properly.

Using the highly technical stirring tool (popsicle stick) pour the epoxy over the paper and spread it evenly. Allow it to dry for a day or two. I know that takes some advanced planning, but if you make several sheets at a time, you can keep them on hand for those crafting needs. ;)

Ice Resin die cut with Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia

Once it was dry, I die cut the glassine book paper with Spellbinders Paper Arts Layered Poinsettia.

Ice Resin Spellbinders Poinsettia with bent petals

The very cool thing the paper, aside from its look, is the fact that you can bend the paper and mold it. Makes adding dimension even easier.

I encourage you to branch out and try this product! There are lots of applications for it, so stick around and I will be sharing more in the future. Playing around in the mixed media world is pretty fun!

Have a wonderful weekend! thanks for stopping by!
