sending you sunshine and laughter

sunshine and laughter butterfly

Just having a little fun with stamps and all that good stuff! :) I stamped a doily image in the background, on the card base. Then on a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped the Zig Zag border from Mint Motif’s Beyond Borders. I trimmed one of the edges to bring out the shape even more. The butterfly is a new die template from Spellbinders and Donna Salazar called, Fanciful Flight.

Ok, I have a question, and to thank you for answering, how about a little blog candy? I have a Spellbinders bag, limited edition CHA Spellbinders t-shirt, quite a few new Kaiser mini sentiment stamp sets, a My Stix adhesive runner from Scrapbooking Adhesives, and several other little goodies from the show.

Leave your answer in the comments. You have until 10:00 pm CST Sunday night. I will announce the winner on Monday. Ready for the question? Would you prefer for me to write out step-by-step instructions of each project I share, or is the narrative that I write now ok?

We are off to shop for a new dryer this weekend…hope your plans are more fun than ours! :) thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps-Mint Motif (Beyond Borders), Hero Arts (Circle Lace, Everyday Sayings), Cardstock-Papertrey Ink, Ink-Palette (Canvas, Noir, Charcoal), Spellbinders-Fanciful Flight

That's so pretty. Simple to make and very elegant.

I prefer narrative. I don't need to know exact sizes. I come to your blog for creative inspiration not specific details to totally CASE your preojects.

Gotta say that butterfly is gorgeous! Add another Spellbinders die to my wish list!!!

I think your narratives are very instrutional and if I have a question I can always e-mail or leave a comment. I just appreciate all the creative ideas and how inspired I am. Blessings!

I am really new to paper crafts so admit that I prefer the step by step instructions. But realize that most crafters are not new like me so maybe aim for the middle; not too easy, not too hard. If you use Copic (which I just started last week - fun!) that would really be wonderful step by step. Thank you for even asking! (Yes, my weekend is a bit more fun than yours however my work week has been full of overtime so perhaps that also balances out. And clean clothes are fun after all :)

I like the narrative. Love visiting your blog with all the creative ideas. You'll love your new dryer, we didn't realize how bad ours was until we got a new one!

The narrative is fine. If I have any questions, I'll just leave a comment. Thanks for all the inspiration. By the way, how big is that butterfly? It's beautiful.

Pretty butterfly!

I like the way it is now since you also give the recipe list. Maybe for more detailed cards; more could be added.

Thanks for a chance to win!!

I like your narrative, you describe things quite well and I like hearing why you chose something, or that this is a favorite color combo, or whatever. Thanks for the opportunity to win candy!

The doily background adds just enough texture, doesn't it. And the butterfly...gorgeous!

The narrative works for me. I don't necessarily need sizes, etc. I like the inspiration you provide and take it from there.

I've been enjoying how you've been doing things by narrating, but i'd be okay if you want to change.

LOVE the butterfly!!!!!!!!

First let me say this card is fab. That bfly is gorgeous. Narrative is fine, unless there is a special/new technique. Then it would be great to give some detail

Beautiful Sunshiny Butterfly. I love what you are doing now.
Some awesome Northern Iowa Weather gives desires for spring.

I like the way you are doing it now, but if you were to use any complicated techniques, just a little more description might be helpful in that instance. But, I love the simplicity of your card, that butterfly is awesome. Thanks for the opportunity.

I actually like how you do it-- I'm generally more of an inspiration-type reader, so descriptions are fine!

I tend to do more of a narrative style explanation on my blog too--it seems easier. As long as the information is there I think you'll keep your readers happy.

Kimberly -- Not going for a win because I was blessed to be a winner during your November 'grateful' giveaway. Just wanted to say it was nice to see today's post 'title,' which I hope is indicative of the fact that moving past last Thursday's post, you truly are feeling the sunshine and laughter in abundance enough to share with all of us. Blessings.

The narrative works for me too. I have now added the Spellbinder butterfuly to my "need" list. =)

I like the narrative just fine. The only time step-by-step instructions in a list format might be helpful is if you're showing us something complicated or brand new that most of us won't have seen before.

Lynnette said...

I like what you're doing now. But I do agree it would be nice to have detailed instructions if you are showing a new technique. Keep up the good work.

I love what you're already doing with the narrative! Keep up the good work!

I love this card- and that butterfly is amazing. most of the time I find a narrative is ok as your projects are generally self explanitary but if you do something totally out of the norm step by step instructions may be a help especially for a few of the newer crafters and narrative gives you more time to create which is good right?

Rachel Joy said...

Super CUTE!! You know I loves me some Butterflies! One of the many new Spellbinders sets that I have on my wishlist!

I definately think the narratives work great! I think you have a good mix currently, where you go into detail with more complicated techniques, and your videos always make me giggle!

I like how the narrative is - seems more fun than just instructions!!! adore this butterfly, too, by the way! and the doily background is so soft!

Kimmie said...

Either or is fine by me. I do like step by step instructions on the more difficult things. Beautiful card!

Hey Kim !!
How ya doing ?? You sound pretty darn busy. You have really made a name for yourself. So glad for you! And to think I knew you when. LOL Anyway.... I think your narratives are just fine but I must say I like your videos too. Keep up the great work! Miss you!!
blessings to you,
Janette

The narrative is simple and effective, but step by step with photos along side will be very helpful especially some detailed techniques or effects. Video will be wonderful too, you are doing very good indeed anyway.

The narrative is fine by me. I love the butterfly!

I like your narrative, but would like to see step-by-step instructions occasionally. That way you can cover seasoned and new paper-crafters. Thanks for sharing your talent.

Angel Hawks said...

Your narrative works for me. I love that butterfly! Gonna have to get me one.

Suzy800 said...

The narritive works for me as I do most of my cards from just pictures anyway. When using a new technique however, a step by step is always helpful.

Happy dryer shopping.....you will love it and will likely ask yourself why you waited so long to buy a new one!!

Love your blog....many blessings to you.

Donna S I love the butterfly and the contrasting background. Yes, narratives are great and helpful.

Judy said...

On the more complex projects I would like a step by step but for the most part your narratives are great. Thanks for asking, thanks for sharing.

Rebecca Ednie said...

I'd like step-by-step for more complex project. Otherwise a narrative is fine!

Alyssa S said...

Beautiful card!!

I think the narrative works just fine. The only thing I like once in a while is a supplies list...just to see where you may have gotten some lace or a flower or something.

Narative for me...your work is beautiful.

Narrative works for me 2!
What i really want to know is what dryer did you get?
I am looking for anew set too.

Nightmare for me, entirely too much money and too many options. I really need to just settle on one and buy them. Laundry mat is giving me nightmares.
