up, up and away

Gratitude Day 25: Again I am grateful for music. Music is such a huge part of my family, present and past. And holiday music brings back so many happy memories of my childhood. It is adorable to hear my son singing those same songs.

I couldn’t wait to share this Spellbinders project with you!! Making this hot air balloon was a blast! To start with, I created the basket with a Large Format Square. The edge of the basket is the Big Scalloped Border Grand and some stamped, colored, and cut out pennants from Hero Arts. The top of the hot air balloon was very easy to create. I die cut several ovals from patterned paper. Then each back was glued to the next. The ring the balloon is sitting in was bent from copper wire.

What are you grateful for today? And today marks the last day of the Month of Gratitude. Thank you to all who participated. You blessed me daily with the things that you are grateful for! Thank you for your willingness to share with me. I will be drawing winners (3) and announcing them soon.

Monday will be the start of a series on my blog called, 12 Trendy Days of Christmas!! Stay tuned for fun and inspiration!

I am thankful for the things we just take for granted - 24 hour power, grocery stores that have any type of food we want, fresh dairy products, low crime and a climate controlled home - all things we didn't have when I lived in a third world country as a teen!
The hot air balloon is cute! What a fun idea!

I didn't get a chance to stop by here yesterday as I was the hostess for our family Thanksgiving celebration and we had a house full. I'm thankful it went smoothly and that there was so much laughter and great food all around. It started out as lunch and by 6pm we all headed off to the bowling all for more fun and games. Such a great time. I'm thankful for such bounty and family who is safe and healthy.

And your balloon is fantastic!!

That's a cute project. I never venture further than cards so it's exciting to see projects from scrappers who do. I'm grateful that I'm not a black friday shopper. Today, we're having lunch with my niece who is in college and it will be a fun, catch-up visit. I'm grateful that my future son-in-law arrived safely yesterday. I'm grateful for the small things in life, but mostly I'm grateful there is a God I can go to and trust.

Thanks for encouraging this month of gratitude. It was so neat to read comments from others and see the diversity over the course of the month. Grateful today for kids and grandkids with whom we'll be spending time later today, enjoying leftovers and getting into the Christmas spirit (which is a no-no in our households until after Thanksgiving).
