Mint Motif Peek: I’ve Got Your Number

Gratitude Day 11: Urgent care is today’s gratitude. Thank goodness there are places open for when your child gets sick outside of office hours. The little man has double ear infections. Poor thing. I am thankful for the doctors, nurses, and other professionals that take care of our families at crazy hours.

So, with the little man being sick and my sister and hubby here for a visit, today’s peek is going to be short. I know that you will all understand, family first! :)

I’ve Got Your Number is a fantastic set of numbers and a few sentiments. There are large numbers, which are perfect for coloring or paper piecing, and small numbers, great for making backgrounds and adding numbers in small places. Not to mention how fabulously it works with the other set we are releasing this month. :)

Sassafras Lass papers inspired this card. I loved the unique color palette and I love any excuse to make something girly.

I stamped the numbers right on the patterned paper and colored the in with a Copic marker. (R24) Keep in mind when you color on patterned paper, its different than your usual coloring paper, its thinner and can bleed easily.

And my favorite font was used to create the sentiments in this set. This one would be great to create birthday party invitations.

The background was really fun to stamp. I placed all my small numbers on a large acrylic block. I stamped them onto a piece of white cardstock and heat embossed them in red embossing powder. Then I stamped them again and heat embossed with yellow powder. Distress ink was applied all over the cardstock. And then a darker color was added just to the edges.

What are you grateful for today? thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps-Mint Motif (I’ve Got Your Number-available Nov. 14), Patterned paper-Sassafras Lass (Count Me In), Ink-Memento (Tuxedo Black), Ranger (Distressing Ink-Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick), Versamark (Watermark), Embossing Powder-Stampendous (Chinese Red, Lemon Yellow), Brad-Chatterbox, Spellbinders-Labels Eight

I have to agree with you and be thankful for health care. I lived in Papua New Guinea as a teen and there, diseases like diabetes are a death sentence for most people, so I get frustrated living in Canada and hearing people complain about our health care. We have it so good!

Indeed that combo of color is great! Your card layout is perfect with the numbers. Today I am reflecting on a trip my husband and I took when we first were married {I had just come across some old photos while cleaning}. A trip to Russia. It was culture shock! And it has etched in my mind the true ABUNDANCE we have. I am THANKFUL for toiletries! The families we stayed with there struggled for such luxuries as soap, shampoo and toilet paper ... nevermind lotions and conditioners. They were thrilled when we left behind several rolls of toilet paper as this was something they either could not afford or the stores would be without. I think about it often especially when I shower; my mind drifts back to showers there with water just sort of dribbling out of the spigot and heated only by the machine that was attached to the side of the tub. You know, I'm also incredibly THANKFUL for that experience - to see the world and how it really is out there.

I love your card. Great color combination! I'm grateful for the weekend. I will hopefully be seeing my beloved granddaughter. Also, grateful I will be seeing my firstborn daughter over the Thanksgiving holiday, Lord willing. I'm very excited about that impending visit. Today I am especially grateful for hardworking restaurant waiters/waitresses. I eat almost every day at a particular restaurant and they take very good care of me. Sooooooo much appreciated.

Grateful for being able to work from home, pretty much on my own schedule, which allows me great flexibility in accomplishing the many other tasks of daily living (or the occasional just goofing off).
