Mercury glass is so beautiful. Just the way it sparkles, yet it is still soft and antique. I love it.

Look at these beautiful ornaments from Pottery Barn. I could have these all over my tree. They are very pricey, but I figured out a way to create the look of mercury glass, that is easy and thrifty.

That really creates a beautiful ornament. I have done a similar technique but it's all "pouncing". Your method is so much better since it creates an elegant look. Thanks.

You are so smart! I have a sudden obsession with mercury glass... not sure why or what started it! :) Another project I've seen that would be really kid-friendly - I've seen folks stuff glass ornaments with colored (or silver, gold, or rose-tone) mylar all scrunched up. It looks quite like the "real thing" from a distance and definitely has the same sparkle.
