Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

Today's Timeless Tuesday challenge, wasn't really a challenge...Silke said we HAD to use our favorite Flourishes set! :) They are all great sets, but Lilac is my favorite. We love when you play along with the challenges, so see all the details on the blog: Flourishes Newsletter.
I love Lilacs. Growing up, there were lilac bushes on the entire property line. The smell in the late spring was heavenly and the shrubs were alive with the humming of busy bees. They remind me of home. We also bring lilacs to my grandmother's grave every spring. I never knew her, so Lilacs are my memory of her. I took this photo at my parent's house one Memorial Day weekend. It will always be one of my favorite photos.

Being inspired by the photo, I stamped the image onto watercolor paper (little note here, Flourishes just got some new watercolor paper in and yummy! it is thick and takes color like nothing you have ever used. its worth every penny!) and used my watercolor pencils. I have a couple of waterbrushes (fine and broad tip) and I pick the color off the pencil. I always keep a scrap of watercolor paper next to me, so I can remove excess color, or get a softer wash of color. A paper towel is also handy for cleaning the waterbrush between colors. The rest of the card is pretty basic, but the photo corners are chipboard pieces that were covered with cardstock.
thanks for stopping by!!

I love this luscious card. It reminds me, too, of my grandmother's garden. Thank you for sharing this stunningly beautiful card. And for the information about the watercolor paper. I am really learning to appreciate the beauty of watercolor.
