Festive Flourishes Friday-Make Mine '09

The New Year always brings black & white colors to mind. So, I wanted to make a simple, yet elegant card to celebrate the ringing in of the new year!
I started by embossing a square into the card base with my Nestabilities. I then cut out a square from another sheet of cardstock and embossed it with my numbers folder. Thought that was appropriate too. :)
I love the stamps in the Holiday Greetings set. Not only does it have beautiful sentiments for Christmas cards, but it also includes the new year and the years 2008-2012! Great idea!

I wanted to add a touch of glimmer to the card. I grabbed my metal wire trim. I knew it would be fun to curl it and didn't realize that when I did, it would look like celebratory streamers! Yay! :)
Make sure and upload your card with the label, FFFC4 and link it back to the Flourishes Blog. You still have a chance to win a set of stamps! :) thanks for stopping by!
