Fred Rogers

I just got the book "Life's Journeys, According to Mister Rogers. Things to Remember Along the Way." I remember the day he died. I cried. Silly, I know, but he was my first friend growing up. My mom says I always thought he was only talking to me and that I would talk right back. Who can forget the sweater and the tennis shoes?
Somedays when you read something, it is what you needed to hear, right at that moment. Today, this is what I needed to hear, especially from a good, old friend.
"You don't have to be anything more than who you are right now."

I remember when Mr. Rogers died too, and how sad I was.

He was always making me feel better about who I was.
